Tim Burton Outs Trailer for Dark Shadows

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp collaborations; love them or hate them, they always present an unusual and creative approach towards film-making. Their latest joint effort, Dark Shadows, tells the story of Barnabas Collins (Depp), a dapper aristocrat who finds himself turned into a vampire by a beautiful witch named Angelique (Eva Green).

After rejecting her romantic advances, Barnabas finds himself locked in a coffin and buried by the scorned witch. Upon waking, escaping and returning to his former residence, a well-aged, sprawling mansion, the newly-turned vampire discovers that his digs have been taken over by a cynical group of miscreants in campy clothes in the future year of 1972; hilarity ensues.

Dark Shadows is the eighth film that producer Burton and leading man Depp have worked on together and this time around they’ve recruited talents like Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter and Chloë Moretz to add to what appears to be just the kind of dark, yet funny, script that Burton is so well-known for.

Still almost two months from theatrical release, the film’s first trailer has been making the rounds over the weekend to mixed reviews but one thing all viewers agree on is the absolute uniqueness of the film in question. Will Dark Shadows be your new favorite film? That’s debatable, but the trailer offers more than one reason to spend two hours deciding!
